Atlantic City Leaders Rally Behind Tim Alexander

Council President Randolph and Councilman Shabazz announced their support for Alexander in the Democratic primary, citing his long record of public service and his deep understanding of the balance between justice, public safety, and community investment.

“As a former captain of county detectives, prosecutor, and civil rights attorney, Tim knows how to balance public safety with justice,” Randolph said. “We need a congressman who will pick up the phone when Atlantic City calls, Tim Alexander is that man.”

Shabazz emphasized the importance of having a federal partner who understands the economic role Atlantic City plays in the region. He described the city as the economic engine of South Jersey and stressed the need for a representative who will fight for federal investment that strengthens local infrastructure, small businesses, and working families.

Proven Experience, Real Results

Tim Alexander brings a rare combination of law enforcement experience, legal expertise, and civil rights advocacy to the race. His background as a retired county detective, former prosecutor, and civil rights attorney has shaped a campaign focused on fairness, accountability, and opportunity for all communities in NJ-2.

Alexander has centered his platform on expanding economic opportunity, securing federal infrastructure funding, improving public safety through smart policy, and ensuring South Jersey communities receive their fair share of resources from Washington.

Building a Growing Coalition Across South Jersey

The Atlantic City endorsements build on earlier support from Democratic leadership in Atlantic County and across the district, highlighting the campaign’s growing coalition of local leaders and community advocates. Atlantic County alone accounts for more than one-third of Democratic primary voters in the 2nd District, making the support of its municipal leadership especially significant. The backing of Atlantic City’s council leadership underscores a belief that Tim Alexander is the candidate best equipped to represent NJ-2 and deliver for families, workers, and small businesses throughout the region.
